Keith PedersonHealth Education Coordinator Keith joined the PrideAlive staff in October, 2004. Prior to joining the staff he was a longtime PrideAlive participant. As a volunteer Keith facilitated Café Chats. After joining the staff, he was the principal force behind development of the popular SafeR Zone and SafeR Zone Sero-Uncertain Encounters events. Keith's professional background includes direct client services in community-based settings, and he has worked & volunteered in a number of capacities including: program coordination, program management, program direction and board involvement for many local non-profits. Previous experience in organizing a parent support network, participating on local & state mental health advisory groups, grass roots community organizing, and public education assist him now in working with PrideAlive’s Community Advisory Board (CAB). Keith is currently serving as a community co-chair for the Community Cooperating Council on HIV/AIDS Prevention (CCCHAP). Keith has a background in mental health and social work as well as multimedia and graphic design. He remains active in local charities primarily through the portrayal of the “Official Den Mother” of PrideAlive - Mrs. Pederson”. Mrs. Pederson is a past editor and regular contributor to the quarterly PrideAlive publication Shameless. |
Andy BirkeyHealth Education Coordinator Andy has been involved with PrideAlive since early 2002, first as a volunteer and then as a Health Educator beginning in April, 2003. Andy was a member of the Minnesota AIDS Walk Steering Committee for three years, past co-chair of the University of Minnesota Queer Student Cultural Center, and has served on many boards and advisory positions related to LGBT health. In addition to his work at PrideAlive he is also a freelance journalist writing about LGBT community issues, politics and health care. He currently resides in Minneapolis. |
Aaron BrosierHealth Education Coordinator Aaron began his involvement with PrideAlive as an intern in 2004 and transitioned as a staff member in January 2007. Aaron Graduated from Macalester in May 2007 with a B.A. in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. At Macalester Aaron was actively involved in their queer community working with their Queer Union and LGBT Task Force. Aaron's future goals include a Master's in Social Work, continuing his involvement in queer communities. |
Cordell Klier Media Designer / Health Educator Cordell’s been with PrideAlive since September 2005. Notorious for his spoken word performances, glitch / drone music, and abstract visual art, Cordell is also a music producer, owns & operates the recording label DOCTSECT Media, as well as being the Founder of the TCAC (Twin Cities Artist Collective), and is head curator for theARThouseParty in MPLS. Aside from his work as an internationally published/released sound artist, he continues his main output as a digital medium(s) designer (15 years) for bands and publications worldwide. Currently partaking in surrealist writing, Cordell’s biggest passions are comparative studies, occult history research, and continues his efforts as a community beacon in the underground for sexual, gender, racial, spiritual, political, rank, and cultural tolerance. |
